St. Peter’s College – Badminton
History
St. Peter’s College started badminton in 1953 with V Kulanayagam as skipper and became Inter schools’ Champions in the inaugural year. Many yreas later with the revival of badminton at College 1the indoor badminton courts were established in old woodwork rooms in 1984 and in 2002 moved to the Gymnasium under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Felician Perera (Rector).

Currently we have more than 150 Peterites playing badminton in various age groups starting from grade 2.

International Representation
2017 –
Viren Neththasinghe was appointed as the Captain of the Sri Lanka Team at the Under 15 World Junior Badminton Championships in Myanmar.
2018 –
Viren Neththasinghe represented Sri Lanka at the World Junior Badminton Championships in The Asian Junior Badminton Championship in Myanmar.
2019 –
Viren Neththasinghe won a Bronze Medal at the South Asian Games in Nepal and also represented Sri Lanka at the World Junior Badminton Championships.
