Rev. Fr. Chris Abeyrathna, a beloved Priest of the Tutorial Staff of St. Peter’s College who was appointed to the College in 1964. He continued at College for a long period as a staff member and also as the Sports Coordinator. Although he was a strict disciplinarian, he always showed great love for students. He was quite popular among the students as well as the parents, especially with his initiatives to help the needy.
He served the College under five Rectors, Rev. Fr. Mervyn Weerakkody, Rev. Fr. Theodore E Peiris, Rev. Fr. Claver Perera, Rev. Fr. Francis Madiwela and Rev. Fr. Joseph Emmanuel Wickremasinghe until he was transferred to the Beruwala Parish in 1978.
Rev. Fr. Chris Abeyrathna was called to rest on 18th August 2021. Our Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed.
