The Investiture ceremony was held on the 6th of April, where 40 students were inducted as Primary Prefects for the year 2021. The college Rector, Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo graced the ceremony, making it a very memorable day. The newly appointed Primary Prefects pledged to serve their alma mater whilst praying to the Lord for guidance and His blessings to fulfil their duties to the best of their abilities.

The programme commenced with Rev. Fr. Rector addressing the gathering. Thereafter, Rev. Fr. Rector, Vice Rector Fr. Chandana Lal, Primary Principal Rev. Fr. Milan Bernard, Rev Priests, Headmistress, and the Sectional Heads pinned badges on the 40 Primary Prefects.

Prior to the ceremony, these 40 students participated in a leadership program conducted by the school’s Senior and Junior Prefects from past years. Master Randiv Athukorala, one of the school’s former Prefects, Master Ovindu Athukorala, the current Head Prefect,  and Master Seth, the Deputy Prefect, gave the newly appointed prefects advice and guidance based on their past experience, having held the same post before them. The incoming Prefects participated in activities designed to guide them in fulfilling their duties, for which the students participated with enthusiasm.

Head prefect, Ovindu Athukorala gave a speech about honesty in leadership; Randive Athukala explained about the importance of being a leader; Seth Rathnayake explained the qualities required to be a leader. The Prefects actively participated in all activities conducted in this leadership program, that benefited them thoroughly. They enjoyed the experience and vowed to take forward and implement the newly learned skills and advice given to them by the past pupils who had done so before them.

The ceremony ended with fellowship.
